North Coast of Spain

We had been seeing these small buildings out back of most of the older Spanish Houses through the regions of Spain we had been travelling through. We wondered what they were. Finally I googled it: "An hórreo is a typical granary from the northwest of the Iberian Peninsula (mainly Galicia, Asturias and Northern Portugal), built in wood or stone, raised from the ground by pillars ending in flat staddle stones to avoid the access of rodents. Ventilation is allowed by the slits in its walls." FINALLY I know what they are!
